Growing up in a household full of creative minds, I had always known that path was not only something I longed for, but something that lit passion within me. I began with photography, learning the ins and outs of framing up the perfect photo, which then led me to open new doors. With photography, I learned editing and color which drove me to push that final capture into something much more. I started an internship at an ad agency, trying my best to learn other sides of the creative world that I hadn’t dug much into. I became more experienced with video editing and cinematography through on set experience with lighting and camera gear. I quickly saw how much I loved the depth that color illustrates in films and took a Davinci Resolve color course to get certified. I moved my way up to become a Video Editor/Camera Operator where I was able to immerse myself in production sets and where many hats on set.
Around this time, my dad and I were launching a travel container company called SPARE where we hoped we could challenge large corporations to eliminate their use for single-use plastic. Through this process I was educated on the manufacturing business (and the struggles) as well as consumer patterns, demographics, and advertising purely based on social media clicks and content.
To expand on my knowledge, I traveled to Florence, Italy to learn the use and history of photography in fashion. There I better understood the layers of iconic campaigns that made them the iconic pieces they are today. I also got to see a new side of design and art that I had never learned about being from the States and could demonstrate through my own portfolio pieces.
To this day, there are still many areas of production, design, and art that I strive to learn about. It’s my goal to soak in as much knowledge I can, to lead myself to become the best creative I can be.
